OFII & MEDICAL VISIT FOR LONG STAY "VISIT VISA" IN FRANCE
As soon as I arrived here in France with my Long Stay Visit Visa, I fill out the bottom part of the “Demande d’attestation OFII” form and mailed it along with the photocopy of my passport data page, visa, and entry stamp in France to the Office Français de l’Immigration et de l’Intégration (OFII) of our department. It is important to register with the government once you arrived here in France in order for them to validate and convert your visa to a “titre de sejour". Although you can do it within your first three months of stay here in France, it is still better to send these documents sooner.
A week after I mailed my papers, I received the following letters from OFII:
1) A confirmation that they have received my papers
2) 👉 Medical visit schedule stating the date, time, and address

MEDICAL APPOINTMENT
I brought the letter from OFII, my passport, vaccination card (it is okay if you don't have one), and health insurance during my medical visit. My chest x-ray was taken first and then I was called for general clinical examination. The clinical examination was all done in the doctor's office. The doctor checked my height, weight, blood pressure, vision, and he asked questions about my medical history, vaccinations, and health insurance. The medical examination is free of charge.
At the end of the medical visit, I got 2 copies of medical certificate (Certificat de Controle Medical) stamped and signed by the doctor and my x-ray result.
OFII CONVOCATION
My OFII appointment was scheduled 4 days after my medical visit. I brought the following documents with me on the day of my appointment:
1) Letter from OFII
2) Passport
3) Passport size photo
4) Attestation d'hebergement (because I don't have bills under my name) written and signed by my fiance together with the copy of his passport data page and the latest copy of his rent receipt.
5) 1 copy of Medical certificate (Certificat de Controle Medical)
6) Printed receipt of 250 Euros (Visiteur) timbre fiscaux which we purchased in a tax center (Direction Generale des Finances Publiques).
I went to OFII together with my fiance and submitted the required documents and paid the tax. Few minutes later, I was called by the OFII counselor for a brief interview. My partner was allowed to be with me during the interview. After the interview, the OFII counselor placed a sticker on my passport and stamped it.
It proves that my visa was already validated and converted to visa long séjour valant titre de séjour (VLS-TS). It also confirms that I can legally stay in France up to the validity of my visa.
