FORMATION CIVIQUE MODULES

When you signed the Contrat d’intégration républicaine (CIR) during your OFII visit you must complete the two mandatory French civic modules.

My French civic trainings were scheduled a month after my OFII visit and I kept the two convocation letters given to me by the OFII counselor which I have to bring and show to the instructor during the trainings. The letters indicate the venue, date, time, and requirements on the day of the training such as the convocation letters and identity card with photo. It is also specifically stated on the letters that you are not allowed to bring someone with you during the training and if you are unable to attend for some reason you must inform OFII in advance by writing.

Both modules were presented in French, but you can request for a translator if needed.

MODULE 1
Principes et valeurs de la République française
(Principles and values of the French Republic)

✎It is generally about the the general history of French from the roman period all the way to present, geography, laws in France, the founding principles of the Republic liberté, égalité, fraternité”, symbols, etc.

MODULE 2
Vivre et accéder à l’emploi en France
(Living and gaining access to employment in France)

✎We covered general information about French employment, housing, educational and healthcare access, etc.

Both modules run from 9am to 5pm. We were given short breaks, 15 minutes in the morning and another 15 minutes in the afternoon, and an hour-long lunch break. By the way, lunch is provided for free as well as the coffee and tea.

At the end of each module, we were given a test regarding the contents of the modules and asked us to complete a satisfaction survey regarding the quality of the centre, the instructor, etc. Don't worry about it because they didn't even bother checking it.

Finally, you will be given a certificate of completion at the end of every training which you have to keep preciously because you will need it on the renewal of your visa.
